A Day in the Life

A few of the blogs I follow do a "Day in the Life" post where they document a typical day in their home. I think it will be fun to look back on, a few months from now, to see what our little family was up to. Our girls are growing and changing so much, I feel like this will be a little caption in time of how things were when they were 7 months old. So, I hope it doesn't bore you...but enjoy taking a peek into The Lives of B&B.....

Monday, September 5th (Labor Day)

(strange day to document as it is a holiday but it's a glimpse at what our weekend is like with a full day of taking care of the twins. I plan to document a normal workday eventually.)

4:30 AM:     I hear little baby chatter through the monitor...they have decided it's time to wake up and talk...awesome! I wait to see if they quiet down...no dice.

4:45 AM:    Brandon wakes up and brings Ava in our bed (we don't usually do this but it's our day off and we want to get a little extra zzzz). I get up and bring Reese in our bed. We all sleep for another hour.

6 AM:         I get up and get breakfast ready for the kiddos. It's milk and bananas this morning. 



6:45 AM:  Girls are done with breakfast....we sit on the floor and play with blocks and toys.

7:30 AM: Reese starts rubbing her eyes and it's time for a nap.

7:45 AM: I lay Ava down for a nap.

8:50 AM: Reese wakes up and plays with Dad on the floor. She loves this little squeaky duck toy.

9:45 AM: Ava wakes up. We get ready for feedin' time!

10 AM: We feed the ravenous little piglettes sweet potatoes and milk.

10:15 AM: Reese falls asleep while I'm feeding here...

...so I put her down in her crib for a nap, and Ava plays on floor with her toys. Ava needs a change in activity so she plays in her jumper exersaucer and watches her favorite show...Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. (Yes...I let my 7 month old babies watch TV...Mama needs a shower once in awhile!)

11:30 AM: Ava is ready for another round of napping and as I lay her down, Reese wakes up. Awe...the beauty of twins!!! Time for Reese to jump/play and watch Mickey!

-Dad is out mowing the lawn and Mom is finally cleaning the house.

12:15 PM: I hear a whiny girl down the hall and go peek on Ava, she is awake and not about to sleep any longer. I try having her play in her exersaucer next to her sister....no dice. I put the girls in their high chairs at the table while Brandon and I eat lunch.

1 PM: The girls have tummy time on the floor which entails many attempts to crawl and move around. Yikes! We are also learning to use sippy cups. Ava is getting the concept and using 2 hands to hold it up. Reese just wants Mommy to hold it for her.

2 PM: Bottle time. Ava is into holding her own bottle....she just can't quite tip it far enough.

2:15 PM: The girls are looking pretty tired already so it's nap time in their cribs.

3 PM: Ava is awake already??! Ugh...I go in and get her and rock her for awhile in attempts to get her back to sleep.

3:10 PM: Waahhh....Reese is awake now! I go get her and cuddle with both girls trying to have some quiet time in hopes eyelids will get heavy. No luck...Ava gets really cranky...the girl needs a longer nap.

3:45 PM: I put Ava back in her crib...she fights it for about 2.5 minutes and is asleep again. I continue to cuddle with Reese and she falls asleep on my chest. She looks too sweet to put her back in her crib so I take the opportunity to cuddle with my sleeping beauty for awhile....and watch Dance Moms.

4:20 PM: Ava wakes up and Brandon is back in from mowing, so he gets her and cuddles with her until she falls asleep again.

5 PM: Reese wakes up and we play with toys on the floor.

5:30 PM: Ava wakes up and we all play together! Awe. :)

6:00 PM: It's dinner time...tonight is pears and milk. The girls seem to be very talkative at dinner time now. They like to tell us about their day.

6:15 PM: Bath night...bath time is much more fun now that they can sit up. We play with our wash clothes and our squirty bath toys.

Blue eyed beauty bathers! (say that 5 times fast!)

6:30 PM: Dry off, lotion, jammies....and quiet play time.

7:30 PM: The girls are ready for bed...we lay them down in their cribs, turn on their aquariums and they are out within minutes. (I love how good they sleep...at least we got that right!!!)

7:50 PM: Brandon runs on the treadmill and I run on the elliptical and watch Teen Mom (I know!!).

9 PM: Mama and Papa hit the sack. Yes...we are old and we know that 5 AM is looming and we need some zzzz's before the work week begins.
