Way Behind!

I have not been very good at updating my blog lately, I apologize. I just added some Pregnancy Highlights posts to get up to date. I just started my 24th week today. We had an OB appointment this morning and everything is going well. I had my glucose test and they stated that "no news is good news," so if I don't hear from them, then I passed the test. Well, we didn't hear anything from them today but I'm going to call in the morning to get my results. Cross your fingers!

We have been fairly busy around the Bran household. We have been back to Grand Forks several weekends for football and tailgating. 2 weeks ago Brandon and I met up with Dawn and Mark in Bemidji to watch the Sioux/Beaver hockey game at the Beaver's new arena. It is much nicer than their old arena but it is no Ralph Englestad. We are definitely spoiled in Sioux Country! I went to Fargo this past weekend to have our Annual Girl's Weekend with my besties! It was very fun. We had pedicures, went out to eat, and did alot of shopping. I just celebrated my 28th birthday on Tuesday...yikes! That is getting way too close to that scary number that starts with a 3. And we are heading back to GF tomorrow for a weekend full of Sioux hockey, Sioux football, and my favorite....Halloween!!! We are totally dressing up and going out on the town. I just hope this prego can handle that full of a day.

I'll make sure to post some pix of our fun weekend ahead. And I'll try to do it before 3 weeks pass. :)

Love, Brandi

21 weeks

Pregnancy Highlights
How Far Along: 21 weeks
Size of Baby: Baby is the size of a banana.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I think total I have gained around 12 lbs!
Maternity clothes: Lovin the maternity jeans and have a few maternity tops. It's a good excuse for needing new clothes!
Gender: GIRL!!
Movement: I feel little "tickles" sporadically but today I had a stronger feeling when I had my arms crossed over my belly. Not sure if it was a full on kick or gas.
Sleep: My sleep seems to slowly get worse. I wake up multiple times per night tossing and turning. I have resorted to using a body pillow for a little extra comfort. I'm not sure Brandon and the dogs appreciate that big thing taking up so much room. Oh well.
What I miss: The only thing I miss is sugar and once and a while a nice cold Corona with lime.
Cravings: I'm sure it is because I was told I can't have it but I want everything sugar: Reeses peanut buttercups, cake, cheesecake, caramel rolls, etc.
Symptoms: Increased appetite at the moment.
Best Moment of the Week: It's been a pretty uneventful week, but I do enjoy seeing my belly look more and more rounded. I love wearing clothes to show off my baby bump. :)

Fighting Sioux Tailgating 2010

Tailgating 2010 is in full swing! Oh yeah and Sioux football season too...can't forget that. This past weekend was our 3rd tailgating/game weekend...and it was a beauty. We were all flabbergasted that it was almost 80 degrees...in mid-October! Things happened that we North Dakota tailgaters were just not used to....beers getting warm, sweat dripping down our backs, maybe even a little sunburn??? Who would have thunk it? The weather made for some awesome tailgating, but didn't help the team reach a victory...boo. Well here are some pix of our fun so far this year:

Team Pink!

It's official...well 95% official...we are having a baby girl! We found out last week during our ultrasound and the tech stated he was 95% sure it was a girl. She was stretching out her legs so we got a pretty good view. My mind is consumed with tutus, fairy princess outfits, tiaras, and all things GIRL!! You think I'm high maintenance, what for my daughter to come!!! Hahahaha!

The Big U/S

So we had our "big U/S" a.k.a ultrasound, yesterday. It was surreal actually getting to physically see our baby, I didn't want to take my eyes off the screen for a second. The baby was moving around quite a bit and I thought it was so strange I could not feel any of it. We saw the baby stretch it's legs out and curl them back up and saw baby moving it's hands around by the face. They took all the measurements and everything is right on track with the timeline and all is good. And yes...we do know what the gender is...but you will just have to wait until we announce it this weekend. Here are a few pictures:

First glance at Baby Hastings.

The tech explaining what we are looking at.

Baby Hastings' Blog Debut!! Not a real clear picture but you can see the head and the body. We were kind of disappointed not to get a good profile picture.

This is a picture of the little arms! Awe! You can see them so clearly.
These pictures make me anxious to see what little Baby Hastings will look like...but we have a few months left to wait.

Baby Hastings: Catch Up

Here is a quick catch up of what has been going with our little baby Hastings:

It all started with these little beauties. Of course I had to take 3 tests just to make sure I wasn't dreaming!
Here is week 12, not much showing yet, except for what I already had going on!
And here is the most recent picture at 19 weeks....Whoa belly!!
We continue on our every 4 week OB visits with Dr. V and all is going well. We have heard the baby's heartbeat a few times and it seems to stick right around a strong 154. I tend to get kind of "paranoid" in between Dr. visits but thankfully my wonderful cousin, Savannah, borrowed me her at home heart monitor and now I can check the heartbeat all I want and ease my mind!! Thanks Savannah!! I have however, been ordered to majorly cut back on sugar in my diet. UGH!! Um...Dr. V do you realize that sugar is a main ingredient in EVERYTHING that I like to eat??? WTH? It is really rough choking down those sugar-free candies and not having my morning cereal, but I really don't want Gestational Diabetes either. Now I understand the sacrifices our mothers make. :)

I'm officially a Blogger!!

Hello from the Hastings' home! I have decided to join the world of blogging! I thought this would be a good way for all our friends and family to see what is going on with us as we embark on our journey to parenthood. So basically, I'll be posting weekly belly pix and weekly pregnancy info, but I will also be posting other fun things we do (i.e. trips, hockey games, tailgating, funny stories etc). So I hope you all enjoy and continue to check out my blog!
