12 months!!!

Wow...my babies are a year old. This has really been the best year of my life and it's hard to put into words how happy these two little beauties have made me. Ever since I can remember, I've had the strongest desire to be a mother and especially a mother to a daughter. My journey to motherhood may not have started out how I expected (i.e. surprise twins, babies in the NICU) but I wouldn't change a thing. Everything worked out perfectly in the end and we were blessed with healthy, beatuiful twin girls. A big thank you to everyone who lended a hand and supported us this year. And thank you Ava and Reese for hanging in there with Mommy and Daddy while we mucked our way through your first year, we love you more than you will ever know.



Ava and Reese 1 year!



Ava

Weight: 20 pounds

Height: 29 inches

Size clothes: 12 months mostly some 12-18 months

New Milestones: Ava now walks everywhere and is trying to climb on things....yikes! She has been working on feeding herself with utensils and is pretty good. She has added a few words to her vocab "No Way" and will point at the dogs and say "bad." She likes to give her baby dolls bottles and hug and kiss them.

Milestones you think LO is close to: She will expand her vocab in the next month or so I'm sure. She learns something new everyday it's fascinating.

Sleeping: Sleeps great!

Favorite Activity/Toy: Loves her baby dolls, singing picnic basket, and her new playhouse.

Amount Eating: She is now on cow's milk and gets 5 oz 3 times per day, eats tablefood for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and loves snacking! I call her Snack Master Jr...(Snack Master Sr being me of course!).

Reese

Weight: 20 pounds

Height: 29 inches

Size Clothes: 12 or 12-18 months

New Milestones: Reese likes to copy things we do and say. She can now say "sit down," "no way," "yeah right," and "Ava." She loves to stick her tongue out and make fake coughing noises. She walks everywhere and never crawls.

Milestones you think LO is close to: She is close to making sentences and talking even more. In the next month, I'm sure she will be climbing on the couch, chairs, etc.

Sleeping: Sleeps great!

Favorite Activity/Toy: Reese loves putting toys or blocks inside of baskets, drawers, cups, etc. She likes stacking blocks and looking at books.

Amount Eating: She is now on cow's milk and gets 5 oz 3 times per day at meal times and eats table food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a few snacks.

11 Months!!

Okay...I know...I know...I have really been slacking on my blog posts...but it's been crazy busy around the Hastings' Household! We've got 2 little girls who are walking around and getting into EVERYTHING. But enough with the excuses, let's do a little catching up.


Reese and Ava at 11 months.



Reese

Weight: Around 19.5 pounds

Height: 28-29 inches

Size Clothes: 12 months

New Milestones: Reese is walking more often and barely crawls at all. She talks all the time and says "MaMa," "Daddy," "No Way," "Uh-Oh," and a lot of babbles. She loves to "talk on the phone" by putting cell phones or any toy that resembles a phone up to her ear and start babbling.

Milestones you think LO is close to: She is close to broadening her vocabulary. She is close to improving her walking even more.

Sleeping: She sleeps through the night all the time.

Favorite Activity/Toy: Reese loves blocks and books.

Amount Eating: We are starting to wean off the formula and onto cow's milk. She gets a bottle 3 times a day along with her meals (table food) and snacks a few times a day.

Ava

Weight: 19.5 lbs

Height: 28-29 inches

Size Clothes: 12 months

New Milestones: Ava walks all over the place and never crawls. She has really taken off and fast. She says "MaMa," "Daddy," and "Uh-Oh." She likes to put toys or phones up to her ear and talk on them.

Milestones you think LO is close to: She is close to using more words. She is good at walking but I'm sure in the next month she will be even better and maybe even running around!

Sleeping: Ava sleeps through the night all the time...thank goodness!

Favorite Activity/Toy: Ava has taken a liking to dolls and babies. She carries them around and hugs them.

Amount Eating: We are weaning her off formula and on to cow's milk. She gets 3 bottles a day at meal times and a few snacks a day.
