Baby Shower!!

We just had our first babyshower! My wonderful sister-in-law, Jodi, was our fabulous hostess. She decorated the house so cute, had adorable baby face cupcakes, and we got lots of cute baby gifts.

Here are a few pictures of our party:

Brandon and I opening gifts. Love all the pink!

A special thanks to Jodi for setting the shower up, hosting, decorating, and making the cute cupcakes! It was perfect! Thank you to my mother-in-law, Dawn, for allowing us to have the shower at her home. And thanks to all the family and friends that attended (Jamie and the boys via Skype) and gave us such wonderful gifts for the baby. We cannot wait to use the gifts when she arrives! We love you all!

Giving Thanks!

With Thanksgiving looming in the next few days, I'm reminded of my Grandma Larson and how she loved to have everyone say what they are thankful for. I used to roll my eyes and think "Oh not again," but this year I feel the need to give many thanks for all the blessings in my life. I have been very fortunate and feel the need to show my gratitude. I'm thankful for my loving husband who I feel very lucky to have in my life everyday. He is truly "my other half" and I don't feel whole without him. I'm thankful for the little miracle growing in my belly. I have wanted to be a mom since I can remember and I'm over the moon that it is finally coming true. I have loved every minute of this pregnancy...the swollen feet and fingers, the constant stuffy nose, the million trips to the potty....because I know what comes after 9 months, will be so worth it!! I'm thankful for my little furbabies, Ruben and Riley, because they offer unconditional love and loyalty. I'm thankful for my caring family who love me no matter what and who would do anything for me. I'm thankful for my awesome in-laws who have accepted me into their family with open arms. I'm thankful for my dear friends who I've gotten to share many memories and good times with and many more to come. I'm thankful to have a job that is steady and allows me to have a comfortable lifestyle. I'm thankful for the roof over my head, the food in my cupboards, and the dependable car I drive because I know there are many people in the world who are not so fortunate. I could go on and on....this week remember what and who you are thankful for and take the opportunity to share your gratitude. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Updates!

Quick Update!
We finally got rid of the nasty colored shag carpet in the 3 bedrooms upstairs!! Hallelujah!! We painted the baby's room and it is looking beautiful. We still need furniture but the basics are done. New carpet feels so nice and makes me want to have the living room and hallway done now! But one project at a time. My wonderful husband, once again, had to do the brunt of the work all by himself while his wife was on yet another shopping trip. Love you Brandon!! I will post some before and after pictures when things are a little more tidy around here.

Updates

Since my last post, I found out that I passed my glucose test!! It was within the normal range. I'm still supposed to limit my sugar, because it's the healthy thing to do...but boy was I glad to have a little sugar back in my life. Yummo!

I have also been feeling some more noticeable kicks and they tend to be around the same time of day...2:00 p.m. and around 7:00 p.m. Brandon even got to feel them. It's so fun.

We are getting ready to get the nursery set up this week. We went out and bought some new carpet for all 3 of our bedrooms upstairs....Hallelujah!! I have wanted new carpet since we moved in this house. The baby room currently has puke burnt orange carpet, the office has royal blue, and our bedroom is gold...and we are talking shag carpet people! Yuck! We also picked out some paint colors. I will have to put some Before and After pics up once we are finished.

We also just did our baby registry at Target and at Babies R Us.com. Quite overwhelming! But it will be exciting to get this place baby ready! :)
