Seven Months!

Reese and Ava are 7 months old!!!

AVA
Weight:  at her last weight check, 2 months ago, she was 14.6 so I would guess in the 15 lb range
Height: around 27-28 inches
Size clothes: mostly 6 months still but some 6-9 months
New milestones: Ava is really good at sitting up without support. She usually only falls over if she is reaching for a toy far away.
Milestones you think LO is close to: She is very close to crawling. She lays on her tummy and spins herself every which way. Soon she will figure out she can get places that way. She has started to act a little bashful around other people and turns her head away and smiles.
Sleeping: She is sleeping through the night! Hallelujah! She is usually tired around 6:30 p.m. (we are trying to get them to stay up a little later) and then she will usually wake up at 5:00 or 5:30 am. There are occasional nights where she will wake up in the middle of the night but is usually easy to get back to sleep.
Favorite Activity or Toy: Ava loves to sit on the floor and play with toys. She also really loves Baby Einstein.
Amount Eating: She eats 8oz of milk and a jar of baby food 3 times a day and gets one feeding of just milk a day. Her favorite so far is Sweet Potato.

Reese
Weight: at her last weight check she was 15.6 so I'm guessing around 16 lbs
Height: 27-28inches
Size Clothes: Mostly 6 months and some 6-9 months
New Milestones: Reese is pretty good at sitting up on her own now. She tips over occasionally when she is trying to grab something thats just out of reach or if she turns to look at the dogs too fast. She started blowing raspberries and fake coughing all the time.
Milestones you think LO is close to: I just know anyday she is going to start talking...something like "ba ba" or "ma ma." She is a little squealer and loves to hear herself make loud noises. She also can "walk" pretty good when we hold on to her hands.
Sleeping: Reese is sleeping through the night...Woohoo!!!! She usually sleeps from about 6:30pm (we are working on a later bedtime) until about 5am.
Favorite Toy/Activity: Reese loves to sit on the floor and play with toys or play in her exersaucer.
Amount Eating: She eats 8oz of milk and a jar of baby food 3 times a day and has one feeding of just milk. Her favorite seems to be bananas.

Letter to Reese

Dear Reese,

My little Reesie baby (a.k.a Reeser, Reeser Piecer, Reese's Pieces) we have all kinds of nicknames for you. You will probably hate them when you're a teenager! You were the smallest when you were born and took a little while to catch up to your sister in the NICU but you have grown so much and so fast. Since you were born you have caught on to things so quickly it surprises Mom and Dad.

You are typically pretty laid back and easy going. When you do get upset, you have a very sad cry and the saddest baby face ever....Mommy can't help but to pick you up and try to make it all better for you. You love to talk and squeal. You love touching our faces and often talk to us as if you are telling us something very important.

You love playing in your exersaucer and especially love all the toys that make music. Often times you are pushing the music buttons over and over and squealing with content. You also love pulling out one of the toys that you discovered can be easily removed and throwing it on the floor.

You have the ability to roll over but are just fine laying on your back most of the time. Mom and Dad have to coax you to roll over. You are getting good at sitting up with a little support.

You have been eating solids for a few weeks now and are such a good eater. You like rice cereal, sweet potatoes, and bananas. You do this cute little lip smacking every time you eat and move your tongue around all goofy. You like to swing your leg around when you're in your highchair and Mom and Dad have to be careful so you don't kick your food all over the floor.
You love to be next to your sissy and are always grabbing for her hand or arm. You love to put her hand in your mouth and chew on it.

From the moment I laid eyes on you...I was in love. The first time I held you in my arms it brought tears to my eyes....I was so happy and amazed by your perfection. You are everything I have ever dreamed of and I'm blessed to call you mine.

Letter to Ava

Dear Ava,

My little Ava girl (a.ka. Aba Baba), we like to call you our little "wild woman." You just seem to have a fiesty personality already at only 6 months old. When you are hungry or tired or frustrated, everyone knows it because you get mad! You are full of personality!

You love to watch your puppies Ruben and Riley bark and run around the house...you think they are funny. You love to play in your exersaucer and grab a few toys at a time and pull on them like crazy. You LOVE Baby Einstein! You are very good at rolling over and are not happy just laying still anymore. You love to play all kinds of toys and especially are interested whatever toy your sister has.

You just started eating solid food and so far you are not such a fan of rice cereal but you love sweet potato. You have this funny quirk of swinging your right leg around while you eat. You seem to be a little sensitive to oatmeal and broke out in hives! Poor baby....no more oatmeal for you.

You love your "little" sister, Reese. Everytime you are next to her, you are reaching for her hand to hold. You also like to grab her face, put your fingers in her mouth, pull on her shirt, and suck her toes. Haha! My heart feels like it is going to explode when I see the two of you interact. I just know you will be best friends.

From the moment I saw your face and heard you cry for the first time, you have melted my heart. You are perfection. You are exactly what I had always dreamed of since I was a little girl. I am so blessed to call you mine. I love you Ava Crystal.
